How can you tell if your business blogging or Website marketing is working?
With many types of marketing it is hard to tell if the marketing program is actually working.
However with the invention of the internet and the invention of business blogging that is very much different now.
Now you can use Google Analytics to measure any campaigns and to gauge success.
When you take part in business blogging it is good to keep topics focused.
That topic will then get you some good initial visibility on the search engines (which can be measured using the FREE Google Analytics tool).
If people like your blog content and they visit your website (or another page on your company website - if you have your blog integrated with your site) then your business blogging marketing strategy is working.
However if people are reading your blog but then not buying your products or service then although the blog marketing is working there is still some sales & marketing work required, on your website or within your business / sales proposition, in order to get the business blogging campaign really working for you.
Business Blogs when working well will gather traffic and visitors but it is your website and your products or services that have to do the sales job in order for you to see some real tangible results.
You can use your blog to capture keyword focused search engine visibility and to get new visitors to your site, then you need to offer some thing of value to the blog readers (this can often be something valuable in the form of knowledge, that they can use) and then you need to create a good proposition and website in order to convert that traffic in to sales.

Handhelds set Bloggers free
Blogging With a Hand-Held means you no longer have to be tied to your laptop!
Being a dedicated blogger once meant accepting life tied to your laptop or being chained to a desktop.
Now, with a mobile device and the right apps, bloggers barely need to touch a standard keypad to keep readers up to date with their news and views. Blogging services like Blogger, Tumblr and WordPress have free apps for you to download on Android and Apple I-phones and while these apps are still not as good and functional as the main blogging websites, they are generally good enough to download and use for posting.
The Wordpress app seems to be the blogging app currently with the most features, but I have found the tumbler app easiest to use, especially on the I-Phone, however the blogger app is fine for just posting un formatted text.WordPress suggests you can upload video but you need to download an additional VideoPress app and pay approx £80 a year for this video service.
WordPress includes a number of real features that will appeal to regular bloggers. The app lets administrators view, edit and delete comments. It also maintains an updated page of statistics so you can track daily page views and see a list of your most popular posts.If you like reading blogs as much as writing them, WordPress also offers a section where you can find, follow and read other bloggers word press blogs.
WordPress appeals to bloggers who are also computer enthusiasts, however Tumblr seems more popular among young, iPhone users. I think that is because in my opinion the Tumblr app is easier to use.
Tumblr misses some of the features available on WordPress, such as the statistics page and some of the administrative options but in most other respects the app is well made. Tumblr lets bloggers upload video and audio files, as well as more typical fare like embedded links but a few refining, editing and posting features are missing. You can’t alter text fonts and when choosing an image from your phone’s photo library, there is no way to view the image as anything other than a tiny thumbnail.
The Dashboard feature lets you read your Tumblr feed in a quick & easy to use format and it also allows you to read other Tumblr blogs. The Blogger app (on Apple and on Android) is extremely spars in comparison to the other two.
Blogger is owned by Google but they haven't packed this app with many of the real features.If you have a Blogger account, you sign into the app with your Gmail credentials and a simple menu waits, listing your active blogs.
From there, you can compose a post and accompany your text with a photo you either snap from within the app or choose from the library.However the photo selection on the I- phone app doesn't seem to work.Google have not updated the Apple version of the app since its release in September, and the Android version is in a similar form.I find that blogger is only really good for unformatted posting and not a lot else, so with this basic app you still need to revert to the laptop and desktop more than with the other apps.
